“While Europeans can do little to affect the course of the conflict, they can help prevent some of its worst consequences from materialising,” said Luigi Scazzieri, a senior research fellow at the Centre for European Reform.

“Working with partners in the region and the US to try to restrain Israel and to persuade it to resume water and power supplies to Gaza, and providing humanitarian support through Egypt, will help prevent large-scale loss of life.”
