10 April 2024
Hybrid London/Zoom

Chris Allan, Director, Eastern Europe & Central Asia, Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office
Ben Noble, Associate Professor of Russian Politics, University College London
Ekaterina Schulmann, Non-Resident Scholar, Carnegie Russia Eurasia Center, Carnegie Endowment for International Peace
Gulnaz Sharafutdinova, Professor of Russian Politics & Director, King's Russia Institute, King's College London
Chair: Ian Bond, Deputy Director, Centre for European Reform

The discussion will consider the following questions: What effect will Putin's re-election have on the war in Ukraine? What does it mean for the security of Europe? Faced with the prospect of another six years of Putin, how should Europe approach relations with Russia? What would have to change (in Russia or the West) to return to a stable equilibrium? What (if anything) can the West do to influence Russia's future development and post-Putin prospects?
