CER/Bertelsmann Stiftung/Jacques Delors Centre launch of 'How to revive Europe's stock market listings'
Europe is losing the IPO race. While the US has recently seen prominent listings, such as SK Hynix and SpaceX, Europe has produced few comparable IPOs. The number of new companies listing in Europe is well behind that of the US and their value has dropped significantly over the last decade. The event will explore why Europe's public equity markets are key to its competitiveness and sovereignty – and what EU and national policy-makers should do to revive its IPO market.
The event will launch the forthcoming policy paper, 'How to revive Europe's stock market listings', by James Green, Claudia-Dominique Geiser and Marlene Schörner.
Speakers:
- Veronika Bondarenko, Policy Adviser, Federation of European Securities Exchanges
- Claudia-Dominique Geiser, Senior Expert for EU Economic Policy, Bertelsmann Stiftung
- James Green, Research Fellow at the CER
- Vasco Pereira da Silva, Head of Policy, Allied For Startups
- Marlene Schörner, Policy Fellow for EU Financial Markets, Jacques Delors Centre
